Your Path to Residency

STEP 1: Visit The Village at Woods Edge

Plan your visit to The Village at Woods Edge by connecting with a team member. During your visit, our team will learn more about you and your interests in amenities and support throughout your day. You will have opportunity to tour our residences, campus amenities, and meet residents.

STEP 2: Complete A Health Evaluation

Meet with our nursing team members to discuss in more detail about available services and how our team can best support your daily living. Our nursing team is available to residents 24/7 to assist with activities of daily living, such as medication management, bathing, dressing, nutrition, and other personalized care services. After you meet with a nursing team member, schedule a visit with your primary care physician to complete a comprehensive History and Physical evaluation.

STEP 3: Secure Your Residency

Once you've completed a health evaluation and an apartment is available, you may secure your residency by completing a one time Resident Deposit. You will meet with our team to complete admissions paperwork to create your personalized care plan.

STEP 4: plan your move-in

Once the paperwork is complete and a physician appointment date is received, please inform a member of The Village Admissions team. At that time, a move date may be arranged.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What are the requirements for Assisted Living?
There are three basic requirements. The first is the Need for Daily Assistance. This refers to the need for help with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing, toileting, feeding and medication management. The Village will assess residents before they’re admitted and on a regular basis thereafter to ensure they receive a level of care appropriate for their needs.

Candidates for assisted living must also be able to Move Independently. This can include using a walker or wheelchair, but if a resident consistently needs two caregivers to get out of bed for example, that’s a sign that assisted living may not be the right fit.

Finally, there is a need for Medical Stability. Any ongoing medical conditions must be able to be reliably controlled through medication. High blood pressure is a common example. If a caregiving staff cannot be confident that medication alone will afford reliable control, it may indicate a need for constant medical attention. This exceeds the limits of assisted living.
Does Medicare cover the cost of Assisted Living?
No, Medicare does not cover long-term assisted living room and board. Generally, it is funded via private pay.
May couples live together in an Assisted Living residence?
Yes. The Village has a dedicated neighborhood of assisted living residences where couples may live and receive the extra assistance they need. But if just one spouse should require assistance, our caregivers will also visit the apartment homes of independent living residents to provide aid and care for the partner who needs it. In either scenario, a couple will be able to continue living together.
