In recognition of Alzheimer’s Awareness Month, we’re launching a three-part Dementia Summit Series to offer support, resources, and education to our greater community. The kickoff evening event on September 16 will feature experts from the Alzheimer’s Association and Powerback Therapy, offering practical tools for those caring for loved ones with dementia. A separate safe and welcoming environment, with entertainment and support will be available for those living with dementia while loved ones attend the discussion.
Event 1: Empowered Caregiver

Alzheimer’s or another dementia can feel overwhelming, but you are not alone. The Alzheimer’s Association is here every step of the way, offering resources, education, and compassionate support for individuals, families, and caregivers.
Event 2: Embracing the Challenge
September 23 | 5:00-7:00PM (Event Ended)
When emergencies arise, individuals living with dementia face unique challenges. Confusion, fear, and communication barriers can escalate stressful situations. Area physician and members of local emergency services will address and alleviate common concerns in relation to emergency situations.
Event 3: Encouragement for the Journey
September 30 | 5:00-7:00PM
Bringing our Dementia Summit to a close, we will recap much of our discussions and provide tools for ongoing dementia care resources. Through gentle meditation & relaxation practices, caregivers can find balance, reduce stress, & restore energy. Jane Fries, 500 Hour Certified Yoga Instructor, teaches meditation and relaxation strategies.
